What have I been doing?

Well, it seems that once school started in August my life has been a constant race.  I love my class of little people and am very proud of their  progress!  My class is awesome!!!!  I've had little time to create, but I've made some really cute stuff for my classroom using my Cricut, but have yet to post the photos.  I have had a minute here and there to make cards and small gifts.  I've taken photos of everything, but once again, have not uploaded them.  Eventhough this is a crazy weekend, maybe I'll have time to post a few pictures!  Blogging was a way to keep myself accountable so maybe I'll try again.  : D

Card Makin' Night

I have been making cards for several hours today.  I'm lucky that I can take pretty much as much time as I'd like.  I took a little break to watch My Pink Stamper LIVE.  Robyn and Karlee are a riot!!  I've been casing ideas today and putting my own twist on them and I actually made some cards on my own.  I've been making eight of everything so I can start to get ready for gift sets.  I haven't posted in awhile, because I re-bookmarked my blog and only bookmarked the reader portion.  Ho-hum...I got a couple of new Cricut Cartridges, so I'm anxious to use them in my DBHS scrapbooks for my guys.  The Old West is perfect for DBHS, because the alphabet that's included is totally the same lettering as the school.  There's a longhorn, but I"m going to pretend it's a Brahma! lol  Well, back to work...I'll post the pix later.

I went shopping...

Well, I did some shopping this week and I'm super excited!  I finally got the Cricut cartridge, Create a Critter.  I've really wanted that one.  I got some googley eyes in different sizes to add to some of the finished products.  Of course I got some more paper; that's a necessity.  Most of my shopping was for little stuff, accents like hemp and bling.  Can you believe I even bought stuff for school already?  Moose Book folders...check!  I made a card on Tuesday.  I followed a color scheme challenge on SCS.  I'll post it here, because I can't figure out how to make the file smaller so I can post it there.  I'll figure all the "posting" stuff eventually.  Still no readers, but that's OK.  I'm getting things accomplished, because this blog is making me responsible.

Some cards...

These are some cards that I made.  Some are from scraps that I had from SU card kits where I didn't have the stamps the directions called for, so I made something out of it myself.  I got the ideas for some of the cards from two great SU demonstrators, Tami White and Angie Huey!  Thanks gals!  I used my Cricut and the A Walk in My Garden cartridge to make the ladybug.  I used the Fiskar's grass punch and a SU sentiment from Dare to Be Darling.  Most of the paper is from SU.  I'm just learning how to post photos and descriptions, so forgive the unorganized description.  I promise I'll get better.

Never Too Busy to Craft

Giving It a Try

I've been enjoying my nice and tidy crafting space.  I've made some cards and really like them.  I had some pieces of paper from kits or card making events that I never finished, so I had to figure out what to do with the different sized paper.  I think they turned out just fine.  Last night, I made a b-day card with a stamp I've had for close to 15 years.  I used my Quikutz stuff with it and I love the card.  I'm going to try and upload the photos.  They are all transferred to my computer, so wish me luck!

The Finish Line

I did it!  My room is finished and I even had time to make some cards tonight!  It feels great!  Everything is tidy and in its place ready for more fun tomorrow.  I have to thank my dh for all of his help and support.  Thanks also to my mom for cheering from the side.  My brother was even cheering me on long distance.  Thanks to ds #1 and #2 were also awesome!  I've taken the photos and now just need to figure out how to upload them.

Ten Steps Closer

Today was productive.  I decided to get the rails/racks from IKEA so my dear hubby and I took a quick trip to West Covina to pick them up.  When we got there, my hubby thought I should get some little pails to hang from the rails/racks.  He's sooo smart!  Everything is hanging from its new home.  Even the curtains are pressed and hung so that there is no longer a red glow.  Hey, I even loaded my new ATG gun and that's a miracle!!!!  Tomorrow will be another day and I plan to get a lot done.  I'm getting so close to the finish line, I'm almost giddy.

Day 3

Okay...I hope I made my final trip to Wal-mart for the week!!!  The lines today were unreal.  Why do I go there when it's hot and I'm hungry?  I needed another curtain rod to make the red curtains I got stop glowing in my room and into the hallway.  It's a little overwhelming.  Hopefully the tiebacks and the sheer curtain will do the trick.  I think my favorite color shouldn't be used for certain things.  Now, the curtains are not a bilious red, just a blue red leaning towards burgundy.  I had to make a stop at Michael's too, because I had my coupon with me.  I got some Martha Stewart glitter.  It's soooo pretty!  Seriously, I have to close the bank on my room and my habit for awhile.  I want so many Cricut cartridges, but I'll never be able to afford anymore unless I stop buying and start working...he-he-he!  A nice four-day weekend should do the trick!  Photos forthcoming before the weekend is over!

Day 2

Well, I'm actually very excited today to get to work cleaning up my room so I can get busy making things and sharing them.  Starting this blog last night was such a motivator!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hello!

I've entered the world of blogging!! Oh, my!  I'm jumping in and will learn as I go.  I hope this will be a place to talk about scrapbooking, stamping, and paper crafting.  You might even find me talking about teaching, one of my other loves.  Currently, I'm on the final phase of reorganizing my craft room.  Today the shelves and curtains went up.  I really should paint, but I need everything to have a home first, so I'll know where it goes when it's painting time.  I know that sounds a little crazy, but I don't want too worry about sorting and stuff when it's time to paint.  I know that some of you know exactly what I mean!  :)  I am determined to be done by Sunday! I want to make something so bad!  I've seen so many great ideas that I want to try.  However, once I get started, I may never find time to do anything else!! I think that would be a good problem.  Happy crafting!
